This Senior Business Analyst role sits within Xero's Data Reliability portfolio, we're an enablement team that provides real time support to Xero's customer facing applications! As we scale up Xero's data platforms, we have started developing world class platform tooling to provide Xero's product teams with a Database Golden Path, and require business analyst support to help us build this.
As a Senior Business Analyst you will work with product leaders and development teams to build a deep understanding of customer problems through data driven analysis, translating insights effectively back to the team, organising work to be done, and contributing towards solutions that realise customer and business value.
You will also contribute towards the development, implementation and coaching of Product Analysis related methodologies, approaches and tools to continuously improve the best way to do product at Xero.

What you'll bring with you:

  • Experience working with software solutions
  • 3+ years hands-on experience of business requirements gathering and solution delivery
  • Familiarity with business and systems architecture models and data structures
  • Experience of working within an agile environment
  • Being a champion for the customer and the business - to solve real problems
  • Experience in a problem-solving role using critical thinking skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to comprehend the wider product portfolio and how you fit into that
  • Proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude, exceptionally self-motivated and directed.
  • Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Fast learner that enjoys fast-paced work
  • Ability to lead, motivate and manage team(s) and set priorities in a collaborative environment, managing all the moving parts.
  • Understanding of systems and information models
  • Technical fluency enabling analysis and understanding of complex technical problems

What you'll do:

  • Leverage networks across Xero to understand how the product fits into Xero's strategy, objectives and future
  • Collate and analyse customer data to inform product planning
  • Lead the translation of customer problem into actionable user stories for the team
  • Work with Product Management to manage the backlog to ensure it follows the product roadmap and strategy
  • Guide the development and tracking of the product against the product's strategy and the annual and quarterly OKR process
  • Foster collaboration across the product team to ensure an effective launch
  • Monitor the overall commercial & customer results of the product line, working with other product team members to intervene if required
  • Lead the monitoring and analysis of product performance
  • Provide support between stages of product development to ensure continuity and cohesiveness, and alignment of product to strategy and roadmap
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and training of product practices to continuously improve and standardise the best way to do product at Xero
  • Train, coach and upskill team members to build product practice across Xero
  • Facilitating sessions and driving recommendations
