Position Summary
The Manager, Compensation will be responsible for the administration of compensation plans and the review of internal equity and market data to ensure our programs and practices are competitive to attract, retain and reward talent. The Manager, Compensation will report to the Director, Compensation and work together to ensure the compensation strategy and design are current, competitive and aligns with the company’s goals and objectives.
This role will be on-site in our NYC office 2-3 days per week.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the administration of the annual salary increase process, bonus and long-term incentive programs.
Collaborate with Compensation team to conduct market research and analysis to design and implement modifications and/or new programs, which are aligned with the Company’s compensation philosophy, to ensure our compensation programs, procedures and tools are competitive.
Provide guidance and support to HR Business Partners and people managers on compensation-related matters, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluations.
Create compensation communications and trainings to ensure employees, managers and leaders have a clear understanding of compensation practices and programs.
Monitor market trends and changes to federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Provide creative solutions to talent acquisition professionals through internal and external compensation analysis and practices.
Manage the participation in and coordinate purchase of salary surveys to ensure compensation objectives are achieved.
Network with subsidiary companies’ compensation community to stay apprised of internal Sony trends and practices and exchange ideas where appropriate.
Additional responsibilities as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include:
Must have bachelor’s degree in HR related field, business administration or finance/accounting. Master’s degree is a plus
8+ years of experience in compensation, to include administration, design, long term incentive plans and executive compensation, preferably in a large global organization
Strong knowledge of compensation principles, market trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices \
2+ years of managerial experience preferred
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong knowledge of compensation software tools and databases
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive compensation information
Must be eligible to work unrestricted in the USA

Annual incentive bonus
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $135,000 to $145,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
