The role

We are looking for a Compensation Business Partner to join our Compensation team. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Compensation and work alongside a team of incredibly talented compensation partners focused on attracting, retaining, and motivating talent across the company. As the Compensation Business Partner for SoFi, you will be a thought partner and trusted advisor, helping us devise creative solutions and approaches to compensation that enable us to meet the demands of a competitive marketplace. You will also be a hands-on builder of flexible, scalable compensation processes and solutions.

What you’ll do:

  • Understand current and emerging market trends to identify potential opportunities and gaps
  • Partner and collaborate with members of the HR team and business leaders to explore problems, resolve issues, and offer solutions on matters related to compensation.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., HRIS, Recruiting, Payroll, Legal, Finance) to implement improvements related to Compensation and cross-functional processes
  • Act as a strategic business advisor to senior business leaders and a partner to HR leaders, ensuring that our programs align with our business goals and support talent acquisition, retention, career development, and internal mobility initiatives.
  • Provide consultative thought leadership on pay decisions, pay guidelines, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related challenges.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to evaluate and recommend pay adjustments to maintain internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Implement and maintain compensation resources and tools that drive transparency, self-service, and a first-class experience for our leaders, employees, and partners.

What you’ll need:

  • 6+ years of broad-based Compensation experience; Technology or Fin-Tech industry experience preferred
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Deep knowledge and experience with Excel/Google Sheets (e.g., if/then statements, VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, formulas)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable with influencing and guiding senior leadership
  • Ability to consult with partners and identify metrics and interpretation needed in deliverables
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Highly collaborative style and strong team orientation
  • Energetic, self-starter with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to act with discretion, confidentiality and good judgment in handling confidential information.

Nice to have:

  • Skilled in Excel Macros, Power BI, and/or Tableau
  • Experience using Workday

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
