Reporting to the Senior Manager, EMEA Accounting, we are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to support our Compensation and Benefits Controllership team. This position is based in Dublin, with a functional link to the Global Process Owner.

The Manager will need to have a global attitude-- understanding particular country, regional and local differences and requirements, while seeking to drive consistency with global approaches and processes. This role will help strengthen our compliance environment by partnering with employee benefits teams around the world to help identify compliance obligations and potential gaps, and to design compliant business processes consistent with our focus on a world class employee experience. The Manager will need to be comfortable continuously flexing in the face of the constantly changing external and internal environment, running with the pace of the business and delivering on multiple simultaneous priorities.


The Manager will have deep experience in conducting risk assessments, gap analyses, business process design and improvement, benefits management, monitoring and auditing, coupled with substantial subject matter expertise in EMEA benefits-related compliance and/or employment law.


This hire will have a passion for delving into the complexities of compliance requirements, helping distill them into layperson’s terms, and translating them into business process and system requirements. They will drive projects from start to finish, working collaboratively within a small team and with a vast array of business partners across the globe

What You will Do:

  • Deeply partner with Employee Success, Finance, Payroll, Business Technology and other legal and compliance teams to understand compliance and benefits requirements, assess gaps, align on priorities, design end to end controls, enable those impacted, and guide in the documentation of mitigation efforts

  • Identify accounting--related compliance gaps in existing processes and communicate business impact

  • Identify emerging accounting-related benefits and compliance requirements and prioritize them in coordination with the business and legal partners

  • Champion compliance by design into all new projects, initiatives and systems

  • Drive to continuously improve the automation of accounting and reporting processes; rethink the status quo for continuous improvement and gaining efficiencies

  • Propose and implement best practices that simplify, standardize and scale how we work; roll out global processes and systems in the region, justify and document regional/local exceptions due to local requirements

  • Provide technical accounting advisory to support US GAAP and local GAAP compliance.

  • Ensure SOX compliance; enforce and recommend improvements to company policies, internal controls, systems and processes; assist in documentation, testing and monitoring of internal controls

  • Monitor while working with external advisory firms and internal stakeholders to document and ensure global/local benefits and employees’ taxation compliance

  • Drive engagements with global / regional accounting and cross functionally

  • Ad-hoc global or regional finance projects as necessary

  • Manage escalations of outsourced service providers; provide feedback & trainings as needed to improve work quality & efficiencies

  • Participate in various organization / department wide initiatives that promote team culture


Who You Are:

  • At least eight years of experience in the field of Pensions & Benefits compliance, corporate employment law, or accounting operations with global company (preferably technology or related industry) Big 4 experience a plus

  • Strong technical knowledge in accounting for Healthcare, Pensions & Risk and willingness to learn across other benefits areas.

  • Bachelors, or equivalent, in Accounting or Finance or related finance field degree, ACA preferred

  • Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and international/ local GAAP ; SOX or other local compliance equivalent

  • Background in Compensation and Benefit compliance and regulations

  • Experience with major ERP system required (e.g Oracle, SAP, Netsuite, Workday) preferred

  • Strong communication, collaboration and teamwork skills across all levels

  • Proven critical thinking capability

  • Process re-engineering involvement and / or process efficiency focus

  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data analytics tools (e.g. Tableau)

  • Ability to identify and drive business accounting process improvement

  • Work experience in managing outsourcing services would also be an advantage
