About The Role & Team

Embark on an exciting journey with us as we pave the way for our next phase of growth! We're seeking a dynamic Director, Total Rewards leader who will be responsible for all aspects of Amplitude’s global compensation and benefits programs. You will lead a team in assessing existing offerings and implementing innovative and competitive total rewards programs that attract, retain, and engage our employees. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, staying current with industry trends, and ensuring our offerings align with our company's goals and values. You will report directly to the VP, Global Total Rewards, People Operations, and People Systems.

As a Director, Total Rewards leader You Will:

  • Fuel Team Growth: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global compensation and benefits team fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Prepare your team to become the next generation of compensation and benefits leaders. The Total Rewards team currently consists of a Senior Benefits Analyst and a Senior Compensation Analyst
  • People Team Partnership: Partner cross-functionally to ensure our programs are administered effectively on a global scale. Partner closely with People Business Partners to support business needs
  • Enablement: Drive employee enablement on the organization's total rewards programs ensuring transparency and understanding
  • Data and Reporting: Partner with the People Systems and People Operations teams to monitor metrics and workforce analytics to drive data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Compliance: Ensure that Amplitude’s policies and practices are compliant with statutory regulations
  • Compensation Leadership: Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, including short-term incentives and long-term incentives
  • Compensation Cycles: Own annual and midyear compensation planning cycles including providing enablement training for managers, partnering with the People Systems team to build compensation planning tools, and partnering with Finance to ensure budget alignment
  • Executive Compensation: Support the VP, Global Total Rewards, People Operations, and People Systems in developing quarterly Compensation Committee materials and ensuring Executive compensation practices are competitive
  • Health & Welfare Programs: Lead overall employee benefits strategy and effective execution of the global benefit programs, including health and welfare, retirement, and wellness programs and Leave of Absence program management
  • **Benefits Administration: **Scale and streamline the administration of benefits programs to ensure efficient operations while maintaining focus on employees experience
  • **Vendor Management: **Own vendor and broker relationships including administrative processes to ensure Amplitude’s health and welfare programs stay in good standing
  • **401k Committee: **Drive 401k retirement plan committee requirements and semiannual meeting cadence

You'll be a Valuable Addition to the Team if You Have:

  • Leadership Experience: 15 years of experience in HR preferred including 8 years as a people manager
  • Dynamic HR Experience: Diverse People Team experience in scaling organizations from hundreds to thousands of employees
  • SaaS Experience: Previous engagement with a high-growth SaaS organization
  • Systems Experience: Prior experience with Workday is preferred
  • Leadership Partnership: Proven experience in effectively partnering with and influencing leadership
  • Versatile Background: Experience in public organizations with a specific focus on scaling businesses
  • Strategic Insight: Understanding of people dynamics, organizational strategy, and talent processes
  • Resilient: Resilient individual with a demonstrated ability to adapt swiftly to evolving circumstances and navigate challenges with a positive mindset

This role is eligible for equity, benefits, and other forms of compensation.

Based on Colorado law, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Colorado. Colorado range: $230,000 - $345,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in New York City, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in New York City. New York City salary range: $256,000 - $385,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $256,000 - $385,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range: $230,000 - $345,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington state. Washington salary range: $230,000 - $345,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington only: unlimited PTO, 10 to 13 holidays annually (will vary), medical dental and vision PPO and CDHP plans. Finally, a company sponsored 401(k) retirement plan
