Amazon’s Compensation team is seeking a Sr. Compensation Consultant to provide strategic compensation support to our fast growing Advertising business. As a Compensation Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering on the compensation needs in Amazon’s global advertising business through strategic, analytical and consulting services. You will work directly with the HR and Business leadership to build and evolve compensation programs that directly support the business's strategic objectives and provide hands-on assistance related to all areas of compensation analysis.
We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-moving environment and are comfortable dealing with ambiguity. You must have a passion to work with complex data, and be detailed and accurate from start to finish in developing programs and completing projects. The successful candidate will proactively partner with client-facing HR Business Partners and Business leadership to identify and address compensation issues, and evangelize Amazon’s Total Compensation philosophy and strategy.
Key job responsibilities
• Support HR teams in implementing compensation strategies for specific functional areas within Advertising
• Assist with compensation projects by gathering data, conducting basic analysis, and helping with program implementation
• Draft clear summaries of analysis findings for review by senior team members
• Analyze existing compensation programs under guidance to assess effectiveness and competitiveness
• Collaborate with regional compensation partners on local issues as directed
• Provide basic advice on compensation components following established guidelines
• Support job evaluations by collecting and organizing market data
• Help maintain documentation and contribute to compensation playbooks
• Assist with survey administration and data collection from industry contacts
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree is required. Graduate degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years experience in finance, compensation, or consulting with an in-depth knowledge of core compensation terminology and best practices
- General compensation knowledge required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees within the organization
- Secondary, beyond English, language proficiency highly preferred
- Proficiency in Excel Macros; familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Power Pivot and Tableau experience is preferred
- Strong problem solving, communication, and presentation skills. The ideal candidate will be well organized and confident to work independently but will be a strong team player
- Ability to create dynamic tools and models to interpret and analyze data. Ability to connect disparate data sources and operationalize tasks. Comfortable with large data sets
- The ability to work independently, take on responsibility, and be nimble in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment
- Experience enhancing and/or implementing compensation systems and reporting tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
